Sommelier Pick of the Week: 2015 Wild Thing Zinfandel
Here at Slate, we love a good California zinfandel, and the Wild Thing does not disappoint. From winemaker Carol Shelton, this bottle, while more approachable than many zins, is still rich and full. Its aroma focuses on ripe darker fruits-raspberries, dark cherries, and plum-with just a bit of tobacco. Its palate continues the focus on lush fruit, making the wine full-bodies and creamy. To finish off each sip, there is a bit of baking spices, due to the vanilla-oak barrels.
